2016 class 12 national exam results will be announced tomorrow.
The Ministry of Education will give an explanation about the results of the exam tomorrow afternoon.
Tikvah Ethiopia follows up and presents the explanation.
Earlier, according to the information given by the Minister of Education, Prof. Birhanu Nega, out of 701,749 students who registered to take this year’s 12th class exit exam, 684,205 students or 97.5 percent of them took the exam.
The rest did not take the test for various reasons and because they started their studies late.
Among the candidates, 29,718 students took the exam through the online exam for the first time.
It is expected that the result of the national exam will be announced tomorrow, Monday, August 4, 2016.
It is known that in the past years, especially from the time students were admitted to higher education institutions (university) and started giving exams, very low results / mostly students do not score passing results.
For example, out of 845,099 students who took the 12th grade national exam in 2015, only 27,267/3.2% were able to score 50% or more.
Before that, 896,520 students were tested in the 12th grade national exam in 2014 and scored 50 percent and above, only 30,034 / 3.3 percent passed.
The Ministry of Education has been working on a remedial program following the low number of direct pass students to allow those pass students to enter the university.
This work was supposed to be a “one time only” and in 2015 due to the limited number of direct passers, the Minister of Education publicly apologized for breaking his promise and allowed the remedial program to continue.
° What kind of results will be recorded this year?
° How many students will score a passing score?
We will see them all together.
The results of the exam will be announced by the Ministry of Education tomorrow afternoon
