The president of #Somalia’s South West region opposed the deployment of #Egypt’s military force in Somalia

The President of Somalia’s Southwest Region, Lafta Garin, has publicly opposed the deployment of Egyptian military forces in Somalia.

In the President’s speech yesterday;
“The government based in Mogadishu;
“They have brought the country into the regional rivalry between Egypt and #Ethiopia,” he criticized.

He added that the South West region of Somalia, which they govern, will not accept the presence of Egyptian troops.

A week ago.
It is remembered that the Somali government has removed the special envoy of the president and a member of the council, Abdiresheed Mohamed Noor Jiley, who opposed the deployment of the Egyptian army in the country.

It is also known that Villa Somalia has filed a request to revoke the immunity of 25 members of parliament representing the South West in the Federal Parliament who opposed the deployment of soldiers.
Djibouti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Youssef, told reporters today that the alternative proposal we have presented to Ethiopia is about “joint management” of the Tajoura port in northern Djibouti.
Yousef explained that Djibouti’s alternative proposal is “not to completely transfer or sell Tajura port to Ethiopia”.
It should not be forgotten that the Minister of Foreign Affairs said last month that in order to settle the dispute with Somalia as a result of the Sea Gate Memorandum of Understanding signed by Ethiopia with Somaliland, Ethiopia will propose an option for “full management” of Tajura port.

It has been decided to release 178 members of the army from Tigray who were convicted by military courts of committing crimes against the interests of the army and the people contrary to their constitutional mission in October 2013.
The defense army announced that the decision to release the army members who were sentenced to life imprisonment to death was based on the decision of the Pardon Board after the prisoners repented of their crimes and submitted their request for pardon to the government and the Ministry of Defense.
It should not be forgotten that the Tigray Interim Administration and the TPLF have repeatedly requested the federal government to release the members and officers of the armed forces of Tigray who are in prison.

Tigray interim administration head of peace and security sector and deputy head of government, General Tadese Nazwa, reconfirmed that the security force of the region will continue without being biased towards any group of the TPLF.
General Tadese, in a statement issued yesterday, asked the factions of the TPLF to refrain from any activities that would lead to a crisis in the political situation of the region and create division among the people.
