Accused Ramadan Abrar committed the crime in Arada sub-city district 01 from an area known as Old Post Office.
According to Chief Sergeant Marimo Kebato, Chief Criminal Investigator of Piasa Area Police Station of Arada Sub-city Police Department, the private victim, Mrs. Asfaw, was talking on her cell phone when the accused, Ramadan Abrar, snatched the phone and jumped into the tube.
Detective Sergeant Marimo Kebato added that the police officers who were on crime prevention duty arrested the perpetrator of the crime following the call made by the private victim.
He said that the police organized the human and documentary evidence and the case was established by the prosecutor.
The investigator said that the action taken by the crime prevention members to catch the criminal is a good example for other members and the investigator conveyed his message to the community to cooperate by pointing out similar criminals.
Cocaine that was going to enter Bahardar city was removed
Cocaine, a drug that was about to enter Bahardar from Addis Ababa, was seized.
According to the head of the criminal investigation department of Bahrdar City Administration Police Department, the commander of the crime investigation department said that 148 pills of cocaine were seized when they were about to enter the city.
The commander stated that the gun is under strict control at the international level because it is a property that encourages crime and is a high risk of addiction, so it needs strict monitoring and for this, the investigation that has been started on the matter will be strengthened.
Amare Bale, a drug control expert at the Bahardar branch office of the Ethiopian Food and Drug Control Authority, said that in order to prevent the negative impact of cocaine on the health of people, the corrective action taken against those involved in the production and distribution process should be strengthened.
