The city’s transport office has announced, “For the sake of road transport safety for the celebration of the Cross Demara festival, motorcycle transport services are prohibited in the capital from September 16th and 17th, 2017 until 12:00 in the morning.”
Transport and traffic inspectors and traffic police have also been notified to implement the implementation.
The President of the Interim Administration of Tigray, Ato Getachew Reda, warned the TPLF group led by Dr. Debretsion G/Michael.
In his warning, the president said that the force that he called “group” should stop the distance it is going to disturb the district and city councils and what it is doing.
The warning letter signed by the President on September 14/2017 and written to all district and city councils says, “The People’s Councils must realize that the Tigray Provisional Government and the people are not the structure of the TPLF and must stop the ‘group’ from running to make it its own weapon.”
Therefore, believing that the councils are the structures of the government and the people, he warned that the ‘group’ should stop using the councils to smear and remove the government officials who did not support and accept their ideas.
He said that the councils should condemn this illegal intervention that mixes government and political organization.
“If this is not the case, it will be necessary to move to legal responsibility in order to enforce law and order,” he added.
Meanwhile, the TPLF led by Dr. Debretsion G/Michael issued a statement opposing the position statement issued by the interim administration cabinet a few days ago.

He said, “The temporary administration’s efforts to transform itself into a full-fledged government responsibility are anti-democratic and unconstitutional.
Although he described it as “unconstitutional”, he did not refer to the articles of the national or state constitution.
Dr. Debretsion’s group “set aside the mission given by the interim administration to destroy the TPLF.
