Increase the electricity tariff every four months for four years

According to the new electricity tariff revised by the government, the Ethiopian Electricity Service has announced that it will increase the electricity tariff every four months for four years starting from September.
The fee paid by a family that uses four light bulbs per hour has been increased from 24 birr to 41 birr.
Under the amendment, residential electricity consumers will face a tariff increase of 256 to 477 percent over four years.
The amendment applies to residential and commercial establishments as well as small and medium industries.
In order not to increase the cost of living, subsidies have been given to customers who use zero to 200 kilowatts of energy.

Evesema understood that the discussion between the council leaders and the ambassador focused on the challenges the council has faced so far in carrying out its mission and the role of America in bringing the two sides to negotiations.
It is known that the Peace Council is planning to talk with the leaders of peace and political affairs from the African Union and IGAD, the United Nations, the European Union, non-governmental international organizations, and the ambassadors of various countries in Addis Ababa.
Evesema understood that the council wants to pressure the two sides to come to negotiations and expects technical and logistical support from the diplomatic community.

Prime Minister Abiy arrived in Beijing to attend the China-Africa Summit.
Upon his arrival in Beijing, Abiy stated on his social networking page that he had a discussion with the Chinese President and that he will work to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
Abiy also said that he has spoken with the Sudanese military leader, General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, about the solution to the Sudanese war.
The China-Africa Leaders’ Summit officially begins today and will continue until August 1st.
In addition to Prime Minister Abiy, Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, Somali President Hassan Mohamed and Kenyan President William Ruto attended the summit.

The Federal Supreme Court has today rejected the bail request of former Minister of Peace, Dieta Taye Dendaa, BBC Amargya reports.
Taye appealed to the Supreme Court after the High Court rejected their appeal in a July 30 hearing.
They were accused of supporting anti-peace forces, inciting violence, and possessing weapons without a legal license, but the High Court ruled that they should only defend themselves against the charge of possessing weapons.
The Supreme Court rejected their bail request, stating that the third charge against the accused carries a sentence of 8 to 25 years in prison and affirmed the High Court’s decision that the accused may not appear in court when required.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines said in a statement yesterday that the airline will not stop flying in Eritrean airspace.
He mentioned that the airline is making its flights to Europe and America as well as to some destinations in the Middle East through the airspace of Eritrea.
