In Greece, the person who fell into the habit of smelling the shoes of his neighbors was punished with restrictions and imprisonment

A 28-year-old Greek man was convicted of rioting by repeatedly trespassing on his neighbors’ boundaries and smelling shoes he found on the porch.

On October 8, in the small town of Sindos, 15 kilometers west of Thessaloniki, a man was sued after one of his neighbors saw a man smelling the shoes they had taken outside to take a breather in their yard at dawn.
The neighbor was forced to call the police as this was not the first time the man had trespassed on his neighbor’s private property and smelled a pair of shoes for the same strange act.
The criminal court of Thessaloniki says that the 28-year-old man has committed similar acts in the past.

The court found the defendant guilty in the case and sentenced him to one month’s imprisonment and three years’ imprisonment.
I am so ashamed of myself and discouraged.
The 28-year-old told the court, “I’m in a bad mood that I can’t describe.”
The neighbor said that he informed the police because he was upset about the incident.

After seeing him doing this for three days, I informed the police that I saw him the next morning and he was arrested, the neighbor testified in the court.
He regretted his actions and did not show any aggressive behavior when arrested;
He understood immediately what he was doing and had no aggressive behavior, another neighbor said.
When asked why he would do this, she replied, ‘Because it will make my life better’.

They said that we have informed the police to help him and stop this act.
The 60-year-old neighbor, who complained about the smell of his young neighbor’s shoes, stated that he caught the accused three times in his yard.
