“Due to the road closure, the ambulance could not take sick people and pregnant mothers to the village,” the complainant said.

In Bobicho Kebele Village 20, located in Hosaena City, Hadia Zone, Central Ethiopia, the residents complained to Tikvah Ethiopia that the city administration did not pay proper compensation to the existing farmers who were on the roads.

They expressed a complaint that they have been living in the village for more than 19 years because it is difficult to get a flood channel, a road for cars or an ambulance, and complete electricity and water services in the village due to the problem related to property enforcement and compensation payment in the area.

Even though the village has a road plan, when it was divided into a city, the previous owners said that they would not leave the place because they were not compensated, so they told us that the road was not opened.

“The ambulance could not take the sick people and pregnant women to the village due to the road closure, so we were forced to carry the sick and pregnant women on stretchers to the main road,” they complained.

He added that due to the mentioned problem, the complainant said that it was not possible to pass the electricity cable carrying poles and water pipes to the area.

As a result, the village is said to be getting only partial electricity and water.

In addition, the complainant added that due to the roads being cut off by the landowners who have not been compensated everywhere, the rainwater does not keep the line, so the heavy amount of rain is entering everyone’s house and putting the local residents at risk of flooding.
“The city administration could not come today or tomorrow to see our problem. The resident has been walking around every now and then. There is no answer. Due to his boredom and lack of response, he has no place to beg,” they said.
