According to a study, 60 percent of Africans, including Ethiopians, want to emigrate from their country

According to a study conducted by the Ishkowitz Family Memorial Research Institute in Johannesburg, South Africa, 60 percent of young people in Africa want to emigrate.

The research institute announced that it has spoken face to face with 5,600 young people between the ages of 18 and 24 living in countries from Ethiopia to South Africa. According to the results of the study, widespread corruption and malpractice in every country is one of the main reasons that darken the future of the youth.

They believe that the governments of each country are unable or unwilling to eliminate corruption and give the young people the hope of a good life. Because of this, the young people prefer to migrate to North America, or to Western European countries such as Britain, France and Germany.

Fifty-five percent of respondents believe that Africa as a whole is “going in a bad direction,” while 82 percent approve of China’s influence on Africa, while 79 percent view the influence of the United States as positive, German Voice reported.
