Millions of people were ordered to evacuate Florida’s west coast ahead of Hurricane Milton.

The Category Five hurricane is battering the area with winds of up to 270 km/h and is expected to be the worst in hundreds of years.
United States President Joe Biden has warned that evacuating the area is a “matter of life and death.”

Hundreds of flights to and from Florida have been canceled because of the storm, which is expected to hit the state.
At Tampa International Airport, 158 outbound and 188 inbound flights were canceled for a total of 346 flights.
Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said she spoke with President Joe Biden about Hurricane Milton in Florida and the potential damage.

Mayor Custer said she spoke with Biden for about 30 minutes and said more resources are needed to clean up the potentially hazardous debris.
