The interim administration of the Tigray region announced that “the security forces of the region are working under my leadership.”
The Tigray Region Provisional Administration Cabinet announced the decisions it made in the regular meeting held on September 11, 2017, after consulting on the current situation in the region.
Among the decisions, he pointed out that “the security forces in the region are part of the interim administration”.
He announced that “under the guidance of the interim administration president and the cabinet, they will carry out their mission in accordance with law and order.”
He said that the people should clearly know that the problem in the Tigray region is presented as between the TPLF and the interim administration, which is completely wrong and misrepresents the actors of the problem and their alignment.
He also announced that the interim administration will continue the allocation of responsibilities at different levels to help it streamline its operations and activities.
He said, “I will work to take legal action against those who are obstructing in any way so that this does not happen.”
